as i packed my bag,
had one fervent wish.
that like the travels before this,
may this trip rescue me somehow.
untangle me
from my jammed up state.
loosen my grip
on things beyond my control.
now i’m filled with gratitude
for the balm of this generous land.
clarity can be heartbreaking
but it’s the kindest thing to do -
to decide what matters most.
to keep what’s worth keeping.
for every joy that passes,
something beautiful remains.
